Dodgers 6, Pirates 2 – The Corey Seager Show Continues

Corey Seager

Tonight Zack Greinke continued to his campaign for the 2015 National League Cy Young but young phenom Corey Seager stole the shown in the 4th inning hitting a 2 run bomb off Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Jeff Locke giving the Dodgers a 4-1 lead and all the runs that Greinke would need to notch his 18th win.

Zack Greinke went 7 innings, only struck out 3 and walking two but looked great most of the night, keeping the Pirates hitters off-balance and inducing a lot of weak contact. Those 18 wins are now a career high surpassing his career high of 17 last season, he’s been great as a Dodger.

Every Dodger starter, even Chris Heisey got on base tonight with either a walk or a hit including Zack Greinke who got 2 hits of his own.

After Greinke came out, Luis Avilan, Chris Hatcher (the new 8th inning guy) and Kenley Jansen shut down the Pirates to secure the win.

Tomorrow, Clayton Kershaw (14-6, 2.12 ERA) faces off against Francisco Liriano (10-7, 3.45) at 6:10 PM, see you tomorrow.

Look for Corey Seager to continue his hot streak since joining the senior circuit!
