Dodgers 14 – Brewers 4, Grandal with Grand Bombs

Now that was fun. Yasmani Grandal continues to try to help Dodger fans forget that Matt Kemp was a Dodger, going 4-4, with 2 home runs, both 3 run shots, and 8 RBI’s.
Fan’s weren’t high on the Matt Kemp trade at first, he’s a hometown player, came up through our system, went from pariah to superstar, back to pariah then last season was an instrumental part of the second half resurgence so I could understand the backlash
The Matt Kemp trade looks worse and worse each day that passes smh. Grandal blows. Thanks Friedman. #Dodgers

I’ve seen a lot of comments like that, even as Matt Kemp struggles in the outfield and hasn’t shown a lot of power. Yasmani Grandal however has started to hit well, in fact Bill Plunkett has a theory.
Since cutting his hair short during series in SF, #Dodgers Yasmani Grandal is 12 for 23 with 3 doubles, 3 HRs, 10 RBI, 5 walks.

It seems that Grandal is the reverse Sampson, cut his hair and he becomes awesome
Yasmani Grandal .179 to .301 April 6-May 1: 10-for-67 (.179), HR, 2 RBIs, 14/11 K/BB May 2-May 6: 12-for-17 (.706), 3 HR, 10 RBIs 3/3 K/BB

So let’s compare Kemp and Grandal now:
Matt Kemp: .291/.328/.419 (1 HR, 18 RBI); Yasmani Grandal: .301/.414/.534 (4 HR, 12 RBI). #Dodgers #Padres

I think we’re winning that trade.
Back to the game.
Carlos Frias started today on the heels of his 6 inning shut out but could only last 5 innings and throw 84 pitches before being lifted in the 6th for Pedro Baez. Luckily for Frias before he came out the game, the Dodgers untied the score from 3-3 and took them ahead 7-3. From there Adam Liberatore and Sergio Santos pitched the last 4 innings, giving up only 1 run.
Joc Pederson didn’t homer and actually hit two singles, spoiling the whole “three true outcomes” vibe he’s shown lately. In fact, until today he hadn’t hit a single since April 25th.
Adrian Gonzalez continued to hit well in Miller Park, going 1-6 and driving in two runs, Alex Guerrero finally got another hit, a home run of course. It seems that’s all the Dodgers rookies can hit this early in the season, I’ll take it though!
Andre Ethier continued to swing the bat well for the Dodgers, making a very good case to stay in the everyday line up one Yasiel Puig and Carl Crawford make their way back. Honestly, if he’s hitting like this, I’d rather have him than normal Carl Crawford, I just feel more confident with him out there.
Injury Update:
Puig will be starting a rehab assignment soon and should be back this month, no news on Crawford and Hyun-jin Ryu was shut down recently when he velocity dropped during a bullpen session, the Dodgers aren’t sure when he’ll be back but we are all hoping he’s back before the All-Star game.
Next up, the Rockies, maybe. Their weather looks horrible, storms today, Friday, Saturday and snow on Sunday. Oh and they don’t have a roof so the next time we see Dodger baseball might not be until Monday back in Los Angeles. Bummer.

A good strategy to get good word of mouth would be to make quality films that people really like.
