AL EAST
1. Boston Red Sox (88-74). Can you even imagine how much fun Hanley Ramirez, David Ortiz, and Pablo Sandoval are going to have together? Like, totally BFFs. Hopefully they remember to play baseball too, or this prediction will look bad.
2. Toronto Blue Jays (85-77). The Blue Jays picked up the right guy at the right time; Russell Martin is a winner. Toronto was my dark horse pick to go deep in the playoffs until major injuries started happening this spring.
3. New York Yankees (83-79). Do the Yankees have any major controversies to deal with this year? No? Ok, cool.
4. Tampa Bay Rays (82-80). I don’t have much to say about these guys, but Matt Moore could be a difference maker once he returns from Tommy John Surgery in July.
5. Baltimore Orioles (81-81). Is Chris Davis clean? Is Matt Wieters fully healthy? Will the rotation hold up like it did last season? Judging by where I’ve placed them, my answers are: yes, but he’ll regress; hopefully, but I’m not optimistic; and no, I don’t think so.
