Detroit Lions Vs. San Diego Chargers Start Time, Preview, TV
- Updated: September 13, 2015
Football season is back ladies and gentlemen. More importantly San Diego Chargers football is back. After much speculation on where the Chargers will be playing for now it’s San Diego where the will play host to the Detroit Lions.
Philip Rivers is the face of the franchise and backed up his thoughts on staying with the franchise after he signed a 4-year $84 million dollar deal with the club. He will be without his favorite target Antonio Gates who is suspended for the first four games due to violating the performance-enhancing drug policy.
The Charger defense will have a lot to worry about when the high powered Lions come to town. Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate are two of the best receiver duos in the league. Last season Johnson suffered with an ankle injury throughout most of the year and was limited to 71 catches and 1,077 yards. The Lions are hoping for him to be healthy all year and to target him plenty. The Chargers will have to be careful of Matthew Stafford and Johnson if they want to pull out this game.
The Chargers were unable to make the playoffs last season due to their inability to get the job done in the last week season. The Lions made the playoffs but were knocked out in the first round. Both teams are looking to improve this season and all begins in week one.
