Dear Trevor Lewis

Dear Trevor Lewis,
You had joined our new team at the start of a brand new chapter.
The rebuild ahead was going to be long and arduous, not to mention lacking guarantee of success given the team’s past.
You spent a good amount of time in Manchester, slowly but surely developing your game.
The wait was a difficult one but when you finally made the move out west, it was evident that there was promise ahead.
Once notorious for being one of the worst defensive teams, your contributions were integral in making the Los Angeles Kings one of the best.

Once notorious for being basement dwellers, your contributions were also integral in helping the Kings win not one, but two Stanley Cups, capping off unprecedented success for the organization — and then some.
You may not have been heralded like the Doughty, Kopitar or Quick…
But your efforts over the last decade-plus has made you one of the most underrated, one of the most loyal and, yes, even one of the greatest Kings of all time.
It is a sad day knowing that your Kings career has come to a close…
But you have been one of the good ones in a business which can be mired by unpleasantries.
I, along with Kings fans everywhere, wish you, sincerely, the best of luck moving forward.
These are well wishes which have been rightfully earned.
You have been, are, and will be forever in our hearts as the legacy of the Los Angeles Kings and their successes will never be whole without the emphatic mention of your name.
Thank you for your bruises from blocking those critical shots.
Thank you for your blood, sweat and tears in the games we won.
Thank you for your blood, sweat and tears in the games we lost.
Thank you for your loyalty.
Thank you for your passion.
Thank you for your determination.
Thank you for your resilience.
Thank you for the memories.
Thank you for being a King.
And most of all, after 12 years of your dedicated service…
Thank you for being Trevor Lewis.
