Dear Dave Joseph,
You joined the Los Angeles Kings with big shoes to fill
And you did exactly that
David Courtney was not only a close friend to the Kings family
But he was a close friend to you personally
And he would be proud of the legacy you continued; The torch you carried with enormous pride
You gave me nothing but utmost respect and warmth when I interviewed you
Assuring me that despite your fame, you remained humble
You put me in touch with Kings figures, past and present, I only dreamed of speaking to
And, in spite of my countless requests, you were always the consummate gentleman
Helping me while insisting never to apologize when I worried about being a nuisance
You have provided the Los Angeles Kings and their fans with eight seasons of wonderful memories
The Kings and their fans are better for having you; And will always be despite the sadness in watching you part
You were a consummate professional in every sense of the term
And your next stop will be richer for having you
Whatever comes in your next chapter, always remember the impact you left
The impact you left on the Kings community, on the hockey community, including yours truly.
Thank you for your all of your contributions
Thank you for all of the memories
And, Dave Joseph, most of all, thank you for being Dave Joseph
