Roberts the former big leaguer took over for Don Mattingly last winter when the Dodgers and Mattingly mutually agreed to part ways. Mattingly ended up in Miami with the Marlins.
Roberts has a rookie manager overcome adversity on the way to winning the NL West division crown. The club saw 28 players hit the disabled list throughout the year including ace Clayton Kershaw.
Los Angeles has already collected a rookie of the year trophy for Corey Seager and now they have the manager of the year in Roberts.
