The LA Galaxy announced on their website today that they have re-signed defender Dan Gargan. Due to the nature of the MLS, the details and terms of his contract were not disclosed.

A nine-year MLS veteran, Gargan will be signed to a multi year contract. He joined the Galaxy in May of last year and appeared in 29 games for the team, started in 27, and had five assists. As well as his regular season role, Gargan was a key player in the postseason where he appeared five of the Galaxy’s playoff matches, while the Galaxy became the first team to win five MLS Cups.

Dan Gargan was born in Philadelphia and attended Georgetown University. He was drafted 43rd overall by the Colorado Rapids in the 2005 MLS Supplemental Draft. He made 49 total appearances in four years here. As reported by LAGalaxy.com, “following his career in Colorado, the right back spent time with Chivas USA (2008), Toronto FC (2010-11), the Chicago Fire (2011-12) and the San Jose Earthquakes (2013) before joining the Galaxy. Gargan has made a total 160 MLS appearances during his career, scoring two goals and recording 14 assists.”

We are very glad to have Dan Gargan returning to the team this season, and we are ready to win another MLS Cup!
