Dallas Keuchel struck out 7 and helped the Houston Astros shut out the Los Angeles Angels 4-0. This was the first time this season that the Angels have been shut out.
C.J. Wilson got the start for the Halos. He had a strong outing as he pitched 6.2 innings allowing 3 hits and 2 runs. He struck out eight during today’s outing but did walk 4. Wilson was awarded the loss.
Keuchel pitched 6 scoreless innings for the Stros tonight. He allowed 2 hits while striking out 7 and walking 3. He was awarded the win.
There was very little offense on both sides. George Springer broke the scoreless game in the 6th inning when he crushed one to left. This game the Astros a 1-0 lead after six innings.
In the 7th Robbie Grossman hit a three run shot to left that brought in Jake Marisnick and Jose Altuve. This gave the Astros a 4-0 lead and the Angels were never able to push any runs across the board.
Mike Trout was unable to get a hit tonight so his 10 game hitting streak ended.
These two teams will wrap up their series tomorrow afternoon at 12:10 p.m. PST. Garrett Richards is expected to make his season debut.
