Mazzoni is a former second round pick of the New York Mets back in the 2011 MLB draft. He made his MLB with the Padres on this day a year ago.
Last season he appeared in eight games and posted a 20.77 ERA at the big league level. This year in the minors he has appeared in just two games and pitched 1.1 innings.
He was placed on the DL a few weeks ago so there might be an underlying injury that we don’t know too much about. As more information surfaces on Mazzoni and the Padres we will keep you up to date.
