Corey Perry Lifts Ducks Over Flyers

Corey Perry scored two goals and the Anaheim Ducks beat the Philadelphia Flyers 4-2 on Sunday night. For Anaheim it was a much needed win after losing two in a row before last night.
The offense got started in the first period when Ryan Getzlaf scored a slap shot goal. His goal was assisted by Sami Vatanen and Cam Fowler and the Ducks held a 1-0 advantage.
The Flyers answered back when Jakub Voracek scored a wrist shot goal. His goal was assisted by Nick Schultz and Sean Couturier and the score was tied 1-1 after the first period.
In the second period it was the Flyers who got on the board quickly. Michael Raffl scored a wrist shot goal that was assisted by Matt Read and Sean Couturier and the Flyers held a 2-1 lead.
Perry answered back shortly with a wrist shot goal of his own that tied the game at 2-2. Getzlaf and Patrick Maroon were credited with the assist. After two periods the score was again tied at 2-2.
The third and final period was all Anaheim. Perry scored the opening goal of the period, a wrist shot goal that was assisted by Vatanen and the Ducks lead 3-2.
Shawn Horcoff got in on the action with the final goal of the game. He scored a wrist shot goal that was assisted by Clayton Stoner and Andrew Cogliano and the Ducks beat the Flyers 4-2.
John Gibson was in goal for the Ducks. He made 24 saves for a .924 save percentage. On the other side Steve Mason was in net making 33 saves for a .892 save percentage.
