- Updated: January 14, 2015
The Los Angeles Clippers traveled to Portland tonight to take on the Blazers in a battle of two Western Conference powerhouses. The Clippers came out victorious thanks to Jamal Crawford’s 25 points off the bench.
Tonight was a big win for the Clippers as they have been struggling to beat some of the leagues better teams. On Sunday they suffered a loss at home to the Miami Heat 104-90. Entering tonight’s game the Blazers had lost just three games at home and the Clippers were able to change that.
Jamal Crawford lead the Clippers in scoring as he scored 25 points. Chris Paul added a double-double as he scored 23 and had 10 assists. Blake Griffin also chipped in 18 points. More importantly DeAndre Jordan was able to assert in his will in this game. He scored 17 points and grabbed 18 rebounds in the victory.
For the Blazers, LaMarcus Aldridge had a big game. He was able to show off his variety of moves and score 37 points in the loss. He also grabbed 12 rebounds. At times he looked unstoppable as most of his points came in the first half.
Chris Kaman also had a double-double for the Blazers. He had 15 points and 11 rebounds. What would be a Blazer game without mentioning Damian Lillard? He scored 15 point but like most of the Blazers tonight struggled from the field.
A big advantage for the Clippers tonight was their execution on the offensive side of the ball. They turned the ball over just 7 times.
Our Clippers writer Connor Aylward was excited about the win as this was the best win of the year so far for Clippers Nation.
