Paul Pierce

It’s not what we want from Pierce it’s what we don’t want. That would be to see him on the floor ever again in a Clipper uniform.

Just like everybody else I respect the man’s greatness in this game. When he decides to hang it up, trade him to Boston for a day, put his 34  jersey in the rafters and put him in the hall of fame.

The above all seem assured. But Doc, please keep him off the court in a Clipper uniform.

Not sure if Rivers still sees the Pierce that led his Celtics to an NBA Title in 2008 or thinks maybe with enough minutes his 39 year-old legs will suddenly wake up but that’s not happening.

Averaging career-lows with 3.8 points, 0.2 assists and 1.5 rebounds per game aren’t exactly numbers that should make anybody think he’s all of the sudden going to click back to his Hall-of-fame form.

After the injury to Griffin I woke up with nightmares of him getting starting minutes over guys like Bass, Johnson or Austin Rivers and they were realized when he actually did.

Luckily Bass has had some standout games as of late that have put him as the frontrunner at the Power Forward backup and the 3 guard lineup with Rivers at the 3 has been a breath of fresh air. However I still dream of Pierce walking out on the floor and wreaking havoc on both sides of the ball for Los Angeles.

Let’s hope Doc has realized Pierce is nearing the end and only puts him in with Diamond Stone and Brice Johnson as garbage time subs.
