Rebounding
Currently Los Angeles is sitting 17th in the league in rebounding as a team hauling in 43.5 per game.
DeAndre Jordan himself is responsible for 13.4 rebounds per game and Griffin when healthy is getting 8.8.
So who else needs to crash the boards?
Luc Mbah a Moute. Luc is only averaging 2.5 rebounds per game. For a starting Small Forward that is known for defense and doesn’t exactly fire back on the break he should be crashing the boards harder on the defensive end. Wesley Johnson whom often comes off the bench for Mbah a Moute is more of a scoring presence from the perimeter and he is currently outrebounding the starter with 3.3 per game.
Brandon Bass. Bass has just recently started to find his role on this team with the injury to Griffin. In his limited 11.5 minutes per game to this point though he is only snatching up 2.2 rebounds. For a 6’8″ 250 lbs prototypical Power Forward it should be easier for him to cash in on those boards. However throughout Bass’ career he hasn’t put up stellar numbers on the glass. Having a career average of 4.6 per game and his career high being 6.2 when he played for none other than Doc Rivers in his time with the Boston Celtics. So if anyone knows how to get his production up on the glass it should be this current staff.
