The NBA’s regular season has come to an end at last and Clipper fans can finally talk about what really matters, the playoffs. The four seed in the Western Conference has been locked in for the Clippers since the implosion of the Memphis Grizzlies, the only question was who would Los Angeles be playing against.
In typical Clipper fashion the team ended up with possibly the toughest matchup out of the possible outcomes, the Portland Trail Blazers.
Regular Season Results:
- POR-102 vs. LAC-91
- POR-87 at LAC-102
- POR-98 vs. LAC-109
- POR-94 at LAC-96
Looking at the above results, the Clippers won the season series against the Blazers but not very convincingly.
Let’s not forget game number 3 above didn’t include one of Portland’s key players C.J .McCollum due to a clerical error by Head Coach Terry Stotts when the player was inexplicably left off the team’s active roster for the night. For those clamoring, Blake Griffin played in games one and two but missed three and four with injuries.
By the way Clipper fans, Portland wants this matchup “ugly” according to former Laker big-man Ed Davis. This won’t be the first time the Clippers have seen an “ugly” first round. Refer to: Memphis Grizzlies.
Let’s take a look at what the Clippers are looking at in order to advance in this tough playoff round.
