Clippers Beat Magic 106-95 For Third Straight Victory
- Updated: December 13, 2017
Looking for a third win in a row the Los Angeles Clippers took on the Orlando Magic at the Amway Center in Orlando Wednesday night.
The team saw renewed life last game with the return of Milos Teodosic from injury. Bringing that momentum to Orlando against a struggling Magic team that’s missing Aaron Gordon showed promise for Los Angeles. Early on however that momentum was nowhere to be found. The Clippers sputtered out of the gates, shooting just 26% from the field through one quarter.
The second quarter was a complete change of pace and a welcome sight to the Clippers faithful that struggled through that rough opening quarter.
Jamil Wilson puts the #Clippers up 35-33! They’re on a 14-0 run in the last two and a half minutes.

The three ball started to come alive and Los Angeles started to find their groove. Yet again it was that energetic Clippers bench that got the ball rolling.
The wiry Lou Williams kicked off that scoring run in the second quarter and never quit putting the ball in the net. Williams was a force off the bench yet again and led the game in scoring by the time it was all said and done with 31 points and a near double-double notching 8 assists.
The steady scoring of Williams and post dominance of DeAndre Jordan helped the Clippers maintain and grow the lead they grabbed in the second. Without Gordon, the Magic were lacking size on the glass and Jordan took advantage all game long snatching 20 rebounds. Jordan also managed to drop in 16 points in what was a balanced game for the big man.
The return of Teodosic has helped guys like Jordan and Williams knock down shots and his ball movement can’t be underestimated. While Teodosic hasn’t lit up the stat line in either game since his return the team has been passing much better and the team assist totals have gone up. Los Angeles out-assisted Orlando in this one 25-24, a category they rarely won in the absence of the Serbian guard.
That second quarter run by the Clippers handed them all the momentum they needed to fend off the Magic and close this one out with a 106-95 victory.
A third straight win for a Clippers team that desperately needed to string together some wins to get back on track early in this season. The Washington Wizards await the Clippers for their next matchup on Friday in DC.
