Clippers Roll In 114-105 Victory Over Knicks

Clippers

When a game tips off and one team is clearly ready to play and the other isn’t, you get a result like this one. The Los Angeles Clippers came to play Monday night against the visiting New York Knicks at Staples Center.

Blake Griffin got things off to a hot start for his club scoring 11 of the team’s first 18 points and finishing the first quarter with 13. Griffin ended his night with a game-leading 30 points but he didn’t get all those points from inside the paint like many might be used to. Griffin went 3 of 4 from beyond the arc, a shot he has beenĀ steadily improving at throughout this season. Another skill Griffin has been honing in on this year has been that defense down in the block. He showed off some of that ability midway through the third quarter on Knicks big Willy Hernangomez.

Griffin wasn’t the only Clipper swatting shots in this one though. DeAndre Jordan had Knicks players peering over their shoulders whenever they entered the paint as he ended up with 3 swats to go with another double-double performance of 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Chris Paul wanted in on some of the fun and ended up getting a double-doubleĀ himself. Closing out his game with 13 points and 13 assists in a tough matchup with former MVP Derrick Rose.

As a matter of fact the Clippers starting lineup impressed so much that they weren’t needed for the entire fourth quarter. A much needed rest allowed players like Austin Rivers and Jamal Crawford to make an impact dropping 17 and 14 points respectively a piece.

The Clippers ran away with this game, winning 114-105.

A second straight win for Los Angeles as they enter a weaker part of their schedule with the Lakers up next.
