Clippers Roast Mavericks 124-104
- Updated: November 23, 2016
Starting a 6 game road-trip your Los Angeles Clippers (14-2) were in Dallas (2-12) Wednesday night taking on the Mavericks.
Entering the game with a 3 game winning streak the Clippers were looking to keep their momentum rolling. Meanwhile the Mavs welcomed back Dirk Nowitzki from extended injury absence due to Achilles soreness and the future hall of famer looked like he still needed to work off the rust a bit. Scoring just 10 points with 6 rebounds on the night.
For Los Angeles however it wouldn’t be the stars that shined in this one. It was the bench that got things rolling toward the end of the first quarter, and they never stopped.

Austin Rivers, who was shooting just 21% from long distance entering the game ended up with 6Â threes and led the squad in scoring with 22 points. But it wasn’t just Rivers shining off the pine. Mo Speights ended the night with a double-double consisting of 16 points and 12Â rebounds, just terrorizing the Mavs bigs. Of course it wouldn’t be a full bench performance without the sixth man Jamal Crawford dropping in a few, he’d end up with 15.
The Clippers starting unit didn’t exactly have a game to scoff at either. Blake Griffin had 12 points 6 rebounds and 7 assists with Nowitzki guarding him. Chris Paul had 18 points with 4 assists and 4 steals and DeAndre Jordan closed it out with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Keeping in mind the Clippers starters were removed after just 3Â quarters of play yet again.
This Clipper victory pushes the winning streak up to 4! There are 5 games left on this road-trip for Los Angeles, who along with San Antonio are the only undefeated teams on the road this season.
After a break for the Thanksgiving Holiday the Clippers will fly to Detroit for a matchup Friday with the Pistons (7-9).
Have a very Happy Thanksgiving Clipper Nation!
