Clippers Overpower Depleted Nets 127-95
- Updated: November 15, 2016
The Brooklyn Nets (4-6) are in Los Angeles for the next few days to take on the two teams that occupy Staples Center. Needless to say they didn’t get off to an ideal start against the Clippers (10-1).
With their two cornerstones of Brook Lopez and Jeremy Lin out with injury, it was already an uphill battle for Brooklyn. To make things more challenging their very young and inexperienced starting five would be facing off against a Clippers team that is just scorching hot early this season.
The first quarter saw the Clippers starters doing everything they wanted on both sides of the ball.

Defense once again spelled trouble for a Clipper opponent early as the Nets could only muster 14 points in the opening quarter of play.
The second quarter saw some more opportunities for the Nets offense as the Clippers starters exited the contest after a marathon of a first. However the Clipper bench again would not disappoint on the other end of the floor. Raymond Felton and Jamal Crawford kept things rolling on the offensive end and helped the Clippers do something they failed to do all of last season.
The Clippers have now scored at least 70 points in the first half twice in the last six games. They did it once all of last year.

Leading 71-47 at the half, things got further out of hand for the Nets in the final two quarters.
Here’s a quick highlight of how quarter three went for the Nets.

After expanding upon their lead, the Clippers would once again relieve their starters of duty with a little over two minutes left in the third. They would not return.
A final quarter of youngsters and bench chemistry building for Los Angeles helped to round out the 127-95 victory for the Clippers.
A stellar performance from Chris Paul and Blake Griffin in this one. Paul with 21 points, 9 assists and 5 steals. Meanwhile Griffin ended his night with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Crawford led the way off the bench with 17 points while his understudy for the night Felton had 11, as he was feeling it from distance going 3 of 4 from that spot on the night.
A special side note, Clipper rookie Diamond Stone hit his first field goal with just under two minutes to go in the game. Congrats to Stone on his first of hopefully many buckets in a Clipper uniform.
The Clippers will take on the rival Memphis Grizzlies Wednesday Night on ESPN at 7:30 PM PST.
Los Angeles will carry a seven game winning streak into that contest and hopefully they can extend it further to eight. Thanks for reading along Clipper Nation.
