Johnson had a strong showing in the Orlando Summer League. He averaged 15 points and 7 rebounds and will compete for playing time this season with the Clippers.
This may be the first time in a long time that rookies will have a chance to play under Doc Rivers. Rivers usually is hesitant to play youngsters but may not have a choice this season after the departures of several key reserves like Jeff Green and Cole Aldrich.
