Clippers Look To Take A W Following GSW L
- Updated: February 20, 2016
This could prove to be an exciting game for the Clippers tonight. They will get a chance to debut their newest acquisition, Jeff Green – somebody we are all excited about (Sorry Lance).
The trade was made in the hopes that they can compete with the likes of the Golden State Warriors, San Antonio Spurs, and anyone else who could potentially take them by storm. Green gives the Blake-less Clippers a big boost in the stretch.
Doc Rivers said the following on the addition of depth:
“I really wanted more length,” coach Doc Rivers told the team’s official website. “When you look at the teams we have to beat, we need to get longer, more athletic, and we need to increase our shooting. I think with Jeff we did all three of those things.”
Jeff Green previously of the Memphis Grizzlies, was averaging 19.9 points and 5.3 rebounds through his final eight games with the Grizz. He said the following:
“As a player, as a competitor, all I want to do is win,” said Green, who played under Rivers in Boston from 2011-13. “That’s what this organization is about, and that’s what this team’s trying to do. I’m happy to be a part of that.”
The Clippers are currently on a 20-5 run
The best part of tonight’s game is that they will get to take on a GSW team that are coming off big loss to the Portland TrailBlazers….you know, the one where Damian Lillard dropped 51 points.
Steve Kerr wasn’t too concerned about the 137-105 loss. He put it down to “teams get hot.”
Stephen Curry has put up a combined 71 points in matchups this season…let’s not even think about the 40 he dropped on us in LA. It could turn out to be an interesting one folks!
The game is tonight at 5:30 p.m. on ABC.
