Clippers Look To Rebound In Portland
- Updated: November 20, 2015
The Los Angeles Clippers will look to rebound after a bad loss to the Golden State Warriors last night. Los Angeles held a 23 point lead at one point and took their foot of the gas eventually losing.
Tonight the Clippers will take on a struggling Portland Trail Blazers team. The Blazers are a completely new team after they lost four of their five starting this offseason.
The club traded Nicolas Batum to the Charlotte Hornets. LaMarcus Aldridge left in free agency to the San Antonio Spurs. Robin Lopez signed with the New York Knicks, and Wesley Matthews joined the Dallas Mavericks.
The Blazers are left with Damian Lillard who is one of the young stars in the league. C.J. McCollum has developed into one of the better scorers in the league. So far this year Lillard and McCollum have teamed up for one of the most explosive backcourts in the association.
Lillard is averaging 25.1 points per game, while McCollum is at 20.3 points. Chris Paul who had a monster game last night is still suffering from a groin injury and he will have a tough test on the second night of a back to back. J.J. Redick will probably be unavailable as well so Jamal Crawford will most likely get the start.
Although Crawford is not known as a defender by any means he will need to buckle down and try to limit McCollum’s production. Expect Austin Rivers to get an heavy dosage of minutes due to his defensive efforts.
The Clippers desperately need this win tonight on the road.
