West, one of the All-time great players in NBA history is arguably a better executive than he was a player. He helped construct the great Laker teams with Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal.
West went on to work with the Memphis Grizziles and put together most of their core pieces including Marc Gasol. Kevin Durant expressed that West was one of the key components in convincing him to join the Warriors.
Los Angeles is looking for an added push to their front office as they go through one of the most difficult free agency periods in franchise history.
