Clippers Improve To 3-0 With Halloween Win
- Updated: November 1, 2016
Staples Center was filled with characters for Halloween Monday evening as the Los Angeles Clippers took on the Phoenix Suns.
One of the biggest characters in the building as always was the Clippers’ own Paul Pierce. Pierce drew plenty of attention for his colorful Rick James costume he dawned on the Clipper bench prior to the game. The most interesting part of this costume was when he admitted he already owned all of the clothes he used to put together the ensemble. Can only imagine a situation one would have those pants for.

Getting back to basketball the Suns were without their young star Devin Booker in this one, leaving them at an even bigger disadvantage against the already more talented Clippers. Booker’s absence was noticeable.
Despite a turnover riddled first quarter that saw Phoenix getting 5 steals, Los Angeles was able to maintain a solid lead for the majority of this contest. A scoring tear to end the first half helped the Clippers grow their lead heading into the locker room.

The second half wouldn’t get much better for Phoenix as the Clipper starters didn’t take it easy on them. The trio of Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan and Chris Paul were able to wear down the youngsters of the Suns as the game went on, helping the Clippers soar to a 116-98 victory.
Griffin ended the night with a double-double of 21 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists as former Clipper Jared Dudley drew the assignment of the superstar and wasn’t very effective. Paul closed out the game with 24 points 8 assists, 5 rebounds and 2 steals. The talented but young Phoenix guards struggled to slow down the All-Star. Jordan got a double-double of his own in this one with 19 points and 11 rebounds.
The Clippers next contest will be against Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder Wednesday night on ESPN at 7:30 PM PST.
