Clippers Hold Off Celtics, Win 102-93

The Los Angeles Clippers held off a late rally by the Boston Celtics this afternoon and won 102-93. The Clippers were coming off a win against the Sacramento Kings on Saturday night and looked to keep up the strong play today.

Blake Griffin led all scorers tonight as he poured in 22 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists. DeAndre Jordan had a strong game as he scored 19 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, to go along with 6 blocks.

J.J. scored 16 points including three 3 pointers, and Jamal Crawford scored 16 points off the bench as well.

For the Celtics Brandon Bass led the way in scoring with 17 points. Marcus Thornton chipped in 15, and Jared Sullinger added 14 with eight rebounds.

Marcus Smart scored 14 as well but also had 7 assists and 2 rebounds. For the most part tonight’s game was evenly matched. Both teams shot the ball extremely well. The Celtics connected on 12 three pointers which really helped keep them in the game.

In the end it was the Clippers ability to control the paint that really separated the two teams. The Clippers erased 10 Celtic shots tonight.

Up next for the Clippers is the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday night at the Staples Center.
