Clippers Go 5-0 On Road Trip, Beat New Orleans 95-89

@NBAcom

The Los Angeles Clippers found out after their first game on the road that Blake Griffin would be out with a torn quad muscle. Their bench had just let the lowly Lakers back into the game and it may have been the rest for Griffin’s injury.

On top of all that the team would have to move on and play without their all-star and they completed a road-trip sweep when they beat the New Orleans Pelicans 95-89 last night.

J.J. Redick led the way with 26 points. DeAndre Jordan stepped up and had a double-double, 11 points and 20 rebounds.

Chris Paul was one point shy of a double-double with 9 points and 12 assists. Jamal Crawford reached double figures off the bench with 15 points.

For New Orleans Tyreke Evans had 14 points and 9 assists. Anthony Davis finished with 14 points and 15 rebounds. Eric Gordon finished with 10 points, and Ryan Anderson led the way in scoring with 17 points off the bench.

Norris Cole also reached double figures with 15 points, and Jrue Holiday had 11 off the bench as well. The big difference in tonight’s game was the Clippers ability to force turnovers.

They force New Orleans into 16 turnovers and they also had a plus five advantage on the glass. With the win the Clippers closed out the 2015 calendar year on a five game winning streak and head home now.

Los Angeles will be off today before taking on the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday night.
