Clippers Waive Devyn Marble From the Magic
- Updated: July 15, 2016
In a late night transaction, the Los Angeles Clippers and Orlando Magic made a deal. The trade includes sending C.J. Wilcox to the Magic in return for Devyn Marble and a 2020 second-round pick. The Clippers have since waived Devyn.
Devyn Marble played the small forward position in Orlando and has spent this summer competing in Orlando’s Summer League. Devyn has been in the league for two years, all with the Magic.
He was drafted in the second-round of the 2014 draft and has struggled for playing time. Marble spent some time with Magic’s D-League affiliate, the Eerie Bay Hawks, and filled Orlando’s bench when they were without some of their key players mid season.
Not a Scott Skiles favorite, Devyn spent a lot of time on the bench, but showed promise when given time to play.
Devyn Marble played in five games of the Orlando Pro Summer League. In 24 minutes per game, he averaged 10.6 points on 39.6 percent overall shooting and 23.5 percent 3-point shooting.
Marble, 23, has shown promise on the defensive end of the court, including a last-second steal late last season that helped preserve a Magic victory over the Miami Heat. But Marble has made just 22.2 percent of his 3-point attempts as a pro.
