Cleveland Browns Vs. San Diego Chargers Start Time, Preview, TV
- Updated: October 4, 2015
SAN DIEGO, Ca- The San Diego Chargers (1-2) will play host to the Cleveland Browns (1-2) this afternoon. The Chargers are coming off of back to back losses after winning in week one and look to right the ship at home.
You can’t think of the Browns without thinking of Johnny Manziel even though he will not be starting. So far this season the one game in which starter Josh McCown got hurt and Manziel stepped in the Browns won. Many fans think it’s Johnny Football time but Brown’s head coach Mike Pettine thinks other wise.
For the Chargers I can’t say there is any quarterback drama. What I can say is that there is some offensive line issues surrounding the team. Rivers has been sacked 8 times in the last two weeks which isn’t necessarily a recipe for success.
D.J. Flunker and Chris Hairston are struggling with ankle injuries and it is really hurting the Chargers offensive production. On the other hand Melvin Gordon and Keenan Allen have played well in early weeks. Allen is off to franchise records in receptions and Gordon has done some things in the running game that nobody has done since Ladainian Tomlinson.
The Chargers offense has the weapons to be good and the return of Antonio Gates next week will only make them better. They need to protect the ball if they want to end this losing streak as they are at the top of the league with 8 turnovers thus far this season.
