Clayton Kershaw placed on 15 day DL
- Updated: June 30, 2016
Dodgers’ ace Clayton Kershaw was placed on the 15 day DL due to a back injury on Thursday morning, retroactive to July 15th. Kershaw did not look sharp in his last start, and his injury may be to blame. Kershaw is working on one of the most extraordinary seasons of his career, posting an MLB best 1.79 ERA and an 11-2 record over 16 starts.
The injury does not appear to be serious, but this is still a devastating loss for LA. The Dodgers sit at 43-37 on the season and will close out a 3 game set with Milwaukee tonight.
Bob Nightengale of USA Today reported further information on the injury.
