Clayton Kershaw Leads Dodgers To 5-3 Victory

Clayton Kershaw threw a complete game and struck out 13 batters as the Dodgers beat the Kansas City Royals 5-2. For the Dodgers they continued their hot streak as one of the best teams in all of baseball.
Kershaw allowed just 6 hits and 2 runs and he picked up his 14th win of the year. On the other side Dan Duffy pitched 7 innings, allowing 6 hits and 5 runs. He struck out 9 and gave up 3 home runs. He picked up his 5th loss of the year.
The offense got started in the first inning when All-Star Justin Turner hit a solo shot to center field. This gave Los Angeles an early 1-0 lead.
In the third inning Logan Forsythe hit a RBI single that brought in Trayce Thompson. Turner followed with his second home run of the night and pushed the lead to 4-0.
Eric Hosmer hit a two-run home run to left center that brought in Lorenzo Cain. This cut the lead to the 4-2. In the 6th inning Austin Barnes hit a solo shot to left and the Dodgers went on to win the game 5-2. Los Angeles will now get a few days off for the All-Star break.
When they come back they will take on the Miami Marlins on Friday the 14th.
