Clayton Kershaw Added to NL All Star Team, Greinke Possible Starter

On Sunday, Clayton Kershaw was officially added to the National League All Star team, joining his four other teammates.

Clayton Kershaw recently fell short of getting voted into the All Star game through MLB’s final vote.

Because Max Scherzer is starting in Sunday’s game, he is considered to be ineligible to start in Tuesday’s All Star game.

Kershaw becomes the fifth Dodger to be going to Cincinnati for the All Star game. Zack Greinke, Adrian Gonzalez, Yasmani Grandal, and Joc Pederson will all be joining him.

Kershaw’s partner in crime, Greinke,  may have a good chance of being named starter for the All Star game.

Debates have been ongoing on the tossup being between Max Scherzer and Zack Greinke, but with Scherzer now being ineligible, Greinke serves as a top candidate.

Greinke is 8-2 thus far, and has a staggering ERA of just 1.39, a WHIP of 0.84 and 106 strikeouts. Greinke’s 1.39 ERA is the lowest first-half ERA in baseball since 1968.

Yes, a lot of the starters also in the All Star game have more wins than Greinke, but Greinke has had a lack of run support and would easily be in double digits given the offensive support.

Congratulations Clayton Kershaw!
