Chris Paul Wants To Remain A Clipper

Following an offseason that nearly spelled the end of the Clippers’ “Big 3”, Clippers fans could be forgiven for thinking that the core of the current roster could disband in the near future.

Both Blake Griffin and Chris Paul are contracted until the end of the 2016/17 NBA season and both have player options, however Blake Griffin has stated he would like to remain a Clipper for the entirety of his career. While comforting, we know how quickly circumstances can change, however Chris Paul has also indicated he would not only prefer to finish his career in L.A., but also bring a championship to the Clippers franchise.

Despite not saying those exact words, while speaking to Dan Woike of the Orange County Register, Paul made it clear he wants to be in L.A.

He’s supremely confident in his place with the Clippers, the franchise where he says he wants to finish his career.

“Hell, I never imagined I’d leave New Orleans, but there’s no question this is where I want to be,” he said. “I want to win. Here.”

Doc Rivers has publicly stated that the roster might require some significant changes if they are to succumb to a first or second-round playoff loss once again however it seems as though Paul believes he has the right crew around him to get the job done.

So Clippers fans can rest easy knowing that Paul doesn’t mind throwing dimes to Griffin, and Griffin in turn seems more than happy to accept them.
