Chris Heisey Becomes Free Agent

According to J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles News Group, Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Chris Heisey as elected for free agency.

Alanna Rizzo of the Dodgers also reported the news.

Heisey is a former 17th round pick of the 2006 MLB draft by the Cincinnati Reds. He spent 5 years with the Reds before joining the Dodgers last year.

With the Dodgers outfield full of players like Joc Pederson, Yasiel Puig, Carl Crawford, Andre Ethier and other Heisey struggled to find time on the field.

He appeared in just 33 games on the senior circuit and hit .182. He elected for free agency so he will be able to sign elsewhere and look for  a better situation for himself.

It is unlikely that he will return to Los Angeles unless he is okay with not getting much time in the majors.
