Pau Gasol will make his return to Staples Center as the Chicago Bulls take on the Los Angeles Lakers tonight. The Lakers are currently on a nine game losing streak, and are without Kobe Bryant for the rest of the year.

The Bulls on the other hand are coming off their biggest win of the year as they beat the Golden State Warriors in overtime thanks to Derrick Rose clutch shot. John Wall and the Washington Wizards gave the Lakers their latest loss of on Tuesday night 98-92.

Tonight’s game will be full of emotion for the Gasol. He won two titles with the Lakers and his departure to the Bulls has worked out in his favor as he is playing some of the best basketball of his career.

It will be a tough game for the Lakers. Derrick Rose looks to be finding his scoring touch and his legs as he scored 30 points against the Warriors. If Ronnie Price is still out Jordan Clarkson will have a lot of his plate in trying to deal with Rose.

Wayne Ellington will start in Bryant’s place. The status is uncertain if Jimmy Butler will play. Butler is leading the Bulls in scoring and didn’t play on Tuesday due to an undisclosed illness.

Carlos Boozer will face his old team once again. These two teams met on Christmas day in Chicago with the Bulls winning 113-93.

The Lakers will need to do a better job in the rebounding department if they expect to win this game. Last time the Bulls outrebounded them 57-39.
