Chargers Woes Continue, Fall To Ravens 29-26

The San Diego Chargers woes continued as they fell to the Baltimore Ravens 29-26 on Sunday. The loss is the club’s 4th in a row.
The Bolts came into this game needing a victory to keep their playoff hopes alive. Injuries and penalties really hurt the team’s chances.
The Ravens got on the board first when Justin Tucker hit a 48 yard field goal to put the team up 3-0. The Chargers answered with one of their own a few minutes later when Josh Lambo hit a 42 yarder to tie the game at 3 a piece. Tucker hit his 2nd of the game with 2 minutes left in the quarter and after 1 the Chargers trailed 6-3.
In the second quarter Philip Rivers connected with Malcom Floyd for a 9 yard touchdown and put the Bolts ahead 10-6. Joe Flacco answered back with a touchdown pass to Crockett Gillmore that put the Ravens ahead 13-10. With time winding down in the half Rivers linked up with his favorite target Keenan Allen for a 13 yard TD. At the half the Bolts lead 16-13.
The third quarter began with yet another Tucker field goal this time from 48 yards out to tie the game at 16. Rivers then connected for a 70 yard strike with Floyd that gave the Bolts the lead again at 23-16. Tucker connected on a field goal from 45 yards out as time expired in the 3rd and the Bolts went into the 4th quarter up 23-19.
Flacco ran one up the middle for 1 yard to give the Ravens the late lead. Lambo then hit a 49 yard field goal to tie the score. Tucker hit his 5th field goal of the game as time expired to give the Ravens the 29-26 victory.
Rivers passed for 301 yards and 3 touchdowns. Melvin Gordon had 18 carries for 54 yards, while Floyd had 4 receptions for 92 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Jason Verrett made 7 tackles to lead the way for the Chargers. Rivers continues to break records for the club as he had his 5th consecutive 300 yard passing game. The loss drops them to 2-6 on the year.
