@NFLonCBS

The San Diego Chargers traveled to Oakland to take on the Raiders on Sunday night and fell 34-31. With the loss the club now sits at 1-4 and the job status of head coach Mike McCoy because even more on edge.

Oakland started the game off with a 20 yard field goal from Sebastian Janikowski that put the Raiders up 3-0. That was the only offense of the quarter.

In the second quarter Philip Rivers connected with Ty Williams for a 29 yard strike. Josh Lambo knocked in the extra point and the Bolts led 7-3. Both teams exchanged field goals in the quarter before Janikowski connected on a 56 yard strike going into the half that cut the Bolts lead to 10-9.

The third quarter was where a lot of the scoring took place. Rivers hit Melvin Gordon for a 18 yard touchdown that pushed the lead to 17-9. Derek Carr hit Amari Cooper deep for a 64 yard touchdown and the Chargers lead was cut to 17-16.

Later in the quarter Rivers found Hunter Henry for a 1 yard touchdown. San Diego held a 24-16 advantage before Janikowsi hit a 48 yard field goal that trimmed the lead to 5. At the end of the quarter Carr hit Michael Crabtree for a 21 yard touchdown that gave Oakland the lead. Heading into the 4th the Bolts were down 27-24.

In the 4th quarter Jamize Olaware scored on a one yard touchdown run to give the Raiders a 34-24 cushion. Rivers found Antonio Gates later in the quarter for a four yard touchdown but the Chargers were unable to comeback from the 10 point deficit.

The Bolts will host the Denver Broncos next week.
