Chargers Start Fast In Win Over Jaguars, 38-14

The San Diego Chargers picked up their first the season, in a very impressive victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars, 38-14.

Phillip Rivers threw four touchdown passes, matched his career high, and Melvin Gordon notched his first career 100-yard game, to spark the offensive explosion.

Gordon started the scoring for the Chargers, when ran in for a three-yard score. The second year running back has now scored three touchdowns this season. Travis Benjamin caught the first of his two touchdown passes in the beginning of the second quarter, extending the lead to
14-0.

In the third quarter after leading by three scores, Rivers hooked up with Tyrell Williams on a 44 yard touchdown pass and Benjamin on a 45 yard pass to blow this game wide open.

After leading 35-0, the Jaguars finally got on the board on a 4-yard pass from Blake Bortles to Marcedes Lewis.
Josh Lambo added a 25 yard field goal, to close out the scoring for the Chargers at 38-7. Jacksonville scored their final points on a 15 pass from Bortles to Corey Grant.

BOLT NOTES:

The Chargers defense force three turnover on the Jaguars and made life very bad for the Jaguars offense.
After the injury to Keenan Allen last week, Danny Woodhead left the game in the first half, with a right knee injury. He will be evaluated and at this time his status for next weeks game is unknown.

NEXT UP FOR THE CHARGERS:

The Chargers will be heading East to face the Indianapolis Colts. This game is scheduled for 4:25 PM EST. This will be one of the six late games that will kickoff the third weekend of the season.
