Chargers Spoil Thanksgiving In Dallas, 28-6

Philip Rivers played his first career game on Thanksgiving was a success, as the Los Angeles Chargers beat the Cowboys, 28-6.

Rivers completed 27 of 33 passes for 434 yards and 3 touchdowns in his debut on Thanksgiving, to lead the team to the win. Keenan Allen caught 11 passes for 172 yards with a 42-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter which put the game way out of reach.

The Chargers defense totally shut down the Dallas offense, allowing only a 2-yard run by Cowboys running back Rod Smith. Desmond King‘s 90-yard interception was the final scoring play of the game. Dak Prescott was sacked and intercepted twice. Dallas has been dominated in the past two games and still can’t find any offensive rhythm without their suspended star running back Ezekiel Elliott.

NEXT UP FOR THE CHARGERS:

The team will have a long rest and will be back on the gridiron on December 3rd against the winless Cleveland Browns at home.
Los Angeles (5-6) are now one game behind the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West, with their eyes still on a possible playoff berth. This has been a remarkable turn of events for the Chargers, after starting the season 0-4.
