Chargers Snap Chiefs Streak, 29-28

The Los Angeles Chargers finally got the job done against the Kansas City Chiefs with a strong second-half performance, 29-28.
The nine-game losing streak to Kansas City ended last night as the Chargers got a big win in the division to even the score. Kansas City led at the half 14-7, despite an injury to Keenan Allen who left the game with a hip injury. Mike Williams step up nicely, having a career night with 7 receptions for 76 yards and two touchdowns and the game-winning reception. The team’s running game was missing both Melvin Gordon and Austin Ekeler, both sat out with injuries.
Rookie Justin Jackson picked up the running game leading the way with 16 carries for 58-yards and his second career touchdown. After Allen’s departure, Philip Rivers was able to connect with seven other receivers. Rivers went 26 of 38 for 313 yards and two touchdowns which included the final drive that gave the Chargers the lead and the win.

With the final two games of the season approaching, Los Angeles will have a rest before they take on the Baltimore Ravens at home in Carson on December 22nd. The 11-3 record for the Chargers gives them a share of the lead with the Chiefs in the AFC West. The Wild Card is firmly in hand, the win clinches a playoff berth for the first time since the 2013 season when they still were in San Diego.
