Ben Higgins of 10 News also reported the news.
L.A. Chargers officially sign P Donnie Jones, release P Drew Kaser. FWIW, I’ve been told the kick unit was never on the same page with Kaser as holder, and not just this season, either.

Eric Williams of ESPN.com reported his thoughts on the news.
Drew Kaser’s consistency as a holder has been a concern for the Chargers the past three years. Coach Anthony Lynn said he wanted to evaluate the entire operation. https://t.co/kS0YYn1AJr

Williams reported more information.
For those wondering about Drew Kaser’s release, he was replaced as the team’s holder in 2016 and 2017 because of inconsistencies at the position. Lynn also had strong words for Kaser after his blocked punt for a score vs. the Rams.
