Jones was a valuable asset to the Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers last season after Jordy Nelson went down. Jones caught 50 passes for 890 last season.
The combination of Jones, Keenan Allen, and Antonio Gates provides so good options for Philip Rivers to air it out. San Diego also showed interest in wide receiver Brian Hartline but it looks as if they have settled on Jones.
