Chargers Lose A Heartbreaker In Tennessee, 23-20.

A very disappointing loss for the Los Angeles Chargers as they were defeated in Tennessee, 23-20.

With the ball on the one-yard line with 39 seconds left, they could not take the lead. On first and goal a false start penalty was called on the Chargers. On the next play, Tennessee defensive back Malcolm Butler was called for pass interference placing the ball back on the one-yard line. With time running out, one last-second attempt to score failed. Melvin Gordon fumbled as he was going into the endzone recovered by the Titans with only 7 seconds left in the game.

This was one of the most bizarre endings to any game in the NFL this season. With the loss, the Chargers are now on a three-game losing streak.

The Chargers have a real problem with the running game. For the third straight game, the past three opponents have held this team under 100 yards rushing. With two premier running backs on this roster, they have been completely nonexistent.

Philip Rivers has been very consistent passing for two touchdowns to both running backs. Austin Ekeler was the leading receiver with 7 catches for 118 yards. Titans backup quarterback Ryan Tannehill led the team passing for 312 yards and two touchdowns.

Next weekend the road gets tougher, the Chargers (2-5) will head to Chicago to face the Bears (3-3). Chicago was stunned in their loss to the New Orleans Saints in a game that wasn’t close as the score indicated.
