Chargers Franchise Tag Melvin Ingram

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN.com, the Los Angeles Chargers have placed the franchise tag on Melvin Ingram.
Other players expected to be tagged by Wednesday deadline include Kirk Cousins, Le’Veon Bell, Kawann Short, Melvin Ingram, Trumaine Johnson.

Top pass rushers – JPP, Melvin Ingram, Chandler Jones, Kawann Short – basically off the market. So much for that.

Ian Rapport of NFL.com confirmed the news.
The #Panthers have officially tagged DT Kawann Short, an expected move. #Chargers likely to do the same with LB Melvin Ingram.

Ingram is a former first round pick of the Chargers in the 2012 NFL Draft. He has spent his entire career with the club.
Last season Ingram played and started in all 16 games recording 8 sacks and 60 tackles. Los Angeles fans are excited to have the linebacker back for next season.
