Chargers Fall In Season Finale 27-20

The San Diego Chargers took on the Denver Broncos in their season finale and fell 27-20. With the loss the Chargers ended their season with a 4-12 record while the Broncos improved to a 12-4 clip.
Denver got on the board early when Brock Osweiler connected with Demaryius Thomas for a 72 yard touchdown. This put the Broncos up 7-0 early.
San Diego answered back with a 50 yard field goal from Josh Lambo. This cut the lead to 7-3 and after the first quarter Denver held the lead.
In the second quarter Lambo was at it again. This time he hit a 42 yarder and the Bolts trailed by just 1, with the scored 7-6.
San Diego took the lead in the third quarter. Philip Rivers connected with his favorite target Antonio Gates for a 13 yard touchdown. This pushed the Bolts lead to 13-7.
After Osweiler committed another turnover the Broncos turned to Peyton Manning. Denver quickly answered back with a 1 yard touchdown run from C.J. Anderson. This pushed Denver back in front 14-13.
At the start of the fourth quarter Brandon McManus hit a 48 yard field goal to push Denver’s lead to 17-13. Rivers answered back on the next play with a 80 yard touchdown pass to Tyrell Williams and the Chargers held a 20-17 advantage.
McManus hit another field goal that tied the game at 20 apiece. Ronnie Hillman ran for a 23 yard touchdown with under five minutes to go and the Broncos beat the Chargers 27-20.
Rivers finished the night with 228 passing yards and 2 touchdowns and one interception. Donald Brown ran for 81 on 21 carries.
Danny Woodhead caught 8 passes for 51 yards. Manti Te’o led the way with 7 tackles.
San Diego will now look forward to the draft.
