After the season there were plenty of rumors that McCoy would be relieved of his duties. Reports surfaced that the Bolts and New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton had a mutual interest.
However the Chargers have committed to McCoy for the next two years even if the fans have been wanting him out after the Chargers finished 4-12 last season.
San Diego has already fired many of their assistant coaches this offseason but McCoy has survived the massive firing session.
