Chargers beat Denver, 21-13

In a highly emotional game that seen the San Diego Chargers finally break through and defeat the World Champion Denver Broncos, 21-13.
The Chargers (2-4) finally was able to get the job done against a divisional opponent. The team had lost ten consecutive games in the AFC West. The win also snaps the Broncos (4-2) fifteen game road winning streak.
The Chargers got on the scoreboard first, on a five-yard pass from Philip Rivers to his new favorite target rookie Hunter Henry. Josh Lambo added a 37-yard field goal to extend the lead to 10-0. Lambo connected on four field goals on the night, all under 40 yards. Melvin Gordon had another solid game, on 27 carries he gained 94 yards, which included a nice 48-yard run.
BOLT NOTES:
Philip Rivers became the all-time leading passer, as he broke Hall Of Famer Dan Fouts franchise mark of 43,040. There’s no doubt that Rivers will be wearing a gold jacket when he retires from the league.
NEXT UP FOR THE CHARGERS:
San Diego will be back in action on October 23rd when they will face the Atlanta Falcons in Atlanta. Chargers head coach Mike McCoy will be feeling much better after the team’s big win over a very tough divisional rival.
