Chargers Beat Baltimore 23-17, Next Stop New England

The Los Angeles Chargers got the first hurdle out of the way with a 23-17 win over the Baltimore Ravens in the second AFC Wild Card game.

The Chargers literally had to hold on to win this game. The Ravens outscored Los Angeles in the fourth quarter after Lamar Jackson threw two touchdown passes to Michael Crabtree. Mike Badgley connected on five field goals, four in the first half that gave the Chargers a 12-0 lead.

Melvin Gordon scored on a one-yard run early in the fourth quarter. Rivers hit Mike Williams for a successful two-point conversion and a 20-3 lead. The Chargers defense stepped up and answered the question on Lamar Jackson. At one point of the game, the Ravens had minus-two yards passing. The Ravens fans were actually booing the team with shouts of “We want Joe”, referring to Joe Flacco who did not play in this game.

On to New England, Los Angeles will face the Patriots in the Divisional round of the playoffs. This will be a test, especially given the team and their postseason history. The game will be the early game on Sunday at 1:05 pm from Foxborough.
