Chargers and Ravens Should Be The Best Matchup This Weekend
- Updated: January 6, 2019
Explosive offensives, stealth, and hard-hitting defenses and great special teams should be a lock for the best matchup in the opening round of this year’s NFL Playoffs.
The Chargers and Ravens played a meaningful game back in week 16. Baltimore survived 22-10 behind rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson‘s first 200-yard passing game of the season. Los Angeles wasn’t prepared for Jackson’s mobility as he gained 39-yards rushing against the Chargers defense.
Health on both teams will be the factor in this game. Melvin Gordon has been battling injuries all season. Joey Bosa is back but he’s still finding his way to get back to his regular form. Hunter Henry‘s status for this game is still undetermined. Head Coach Anthony Lynn said that if he plays, he will be monitored.
The Ravens are a soundly fundamental defensive unit, all three parts of their defense are superior. The defensive line has the ability to shut down any opposing team’s feature running back. The Ravens were the number one defense in the NFL this season and they were considered the best tackling team in football.
It’s going to be a great football game. The Chargers will have revenge on their minds as they look to even the score against Baltimore. If Philip Rivers is able to connect with Keenan Allen and the Chargers are able to break through the Ravens secondary, the advantage will go the Chargers. My prediction for the game Los Angeles 23 Baltimore 21.
