Kelly hasn’t pitched in the majors since 2012. He is a former 1st round pick in the 2009 MLB draft by the Boston Red Sox.
Back in 2012 he made 6 starts for the Padres sporting a 2-3 record with a 6.21 ERA. This mini tryout at the end of the year could set Kelly up to be a part of the rotation for next season.
With the Padres out of the playoff race it may be a good time to test Kelly out against the major league talent. As more information surfaces on the Kelly and the Padres we will keep you updated.
