According to Ken Gurnick of MLB.com Los Angeles Dodgers out fileder Carl Crawford will begin his rehab assignment today.

Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reported Crawford’s anticipated rehab schedule.

Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times reported that Crawford took live BP over the weekend and was ready to take the step.

Crawford has been out a majority of the season due to a oblique tear. He was placed on the 60-day disabled list earlier this month.

On June 1 we wrote the following on Carl Crawford:

Crawford is no stranger to the DL. He has been on the DL 5 times in the last four years. Most of Crawford’s success was with the Tampa Bay Rays. He left the Rays to join the Red Sox for big money and just has not been the same.

We will continue to track Crawford’s progression.
